Just My Five for Friday

I just joined Bloglovin and am feeling a little sad that I have 0 followers. I invited my husband and family to join so I hope my followers jump from 0 to 5 very soon. :)

As I am totally new to the blogging thing I want to participate in my first Linky so here goes. . . I am linking with Doodle Bugs for their Five for Friday.

I really love how *my blog* (I still get excited to say that even if I do have 0 followers on Bloglovin) design turned out. Kassie over at Designs by Kassie is kind of a rock star. She makes my blog look like I am a pro at this blogging business. Thank you Kassie!

It is freezing here in the Midwest. I mean FUH-REEZING! We don't have snow which means no snow days. So we get to deal with the bitter cold and lots of indoor recess. Since school was still in session, I rewarded myself by having an extremely large, white chocolate, peppermint mocha (sans whip) before work this morning. It probably counted as my daily calorie intake but it warmed me up a little bit and helped put a smile on my face.

Last night our firsties had their musical performance. It was based on 'Twas a Night Before Christmas. All 130 of them stood on the risers, in their Christmas pjs, and sang and danced their little hearts out. It was A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E. and really put me in the Christmas spirit. They worked their tails off rehearsing all week and were so darn cute.

Our school is lucky to have a wonderful music teacher who puts on these awesome productions for each grade level. She continues to outdo herself with each show!

I just got an email from Sephora and Urban Decay is releasing a Naked3 on December 12. My eyes are so excited!

Speaking of eyes . . . . .

My new contacts were delivered today. I have been living in a cloud for the past 3 weeks and felt like my dry eyeballs were going to pop out of my head each night when I got home from work. Of course I waited until the last minute to order them and *thought* I was being clever in having them shipped to my parents house last week since we were visiting for Thanksgiving. Well we left in the morning and they arrived that afternoon. Hmph. My plan did not pan out like I had hoped.

I ordered some more more thinking they would get here fast but it took the whole week. People . . . my eyes were shriveling! I could feel it . . . minute by minute . . . it was A.G.O.N.Y.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow morning and putting a fresh, new pair of contacts in! I will be able to see again.

P.S. If you waved at me in the last 3 weeks and I didn't wave back, I wasn't ignoring you. I was looking through a dense fog and couldn't see you.

P.P.S. This also got me thinking . . . if we have a zombie apocalypse I need to make sure I grab a few boxes of contacts. I will be worthless defending mankind with cloudy eyes. Also, I would maybe grab my glasses (in a pinch) but my son, Gibson, has stretched them out so they constantly fall down. Oh, the troubles of someone with poor eyesight and 2 small kids! :)
